Cuatro Caminos Arriba, está algo apartado de la Ciudad, en esa barriada del #CP1_Guantánamo se encuentra la Escuela Primaria “Ramón López Peña”. Como tantas escuelas en Cuba, esta modesta institución educativa está bien equipada para atender una matrícula de más de 70 alumnos. Otros detalles de la escuela y de la comarca, me ofreció atentamente la licenciada en Educación Primaria Yordalis Muñoz.
Mi presencia allí tenía varios propósitos: Conocer el territorio que administra mi Consejo Popular y contribuir con los promotores culturales a documentar las actividades que programan regularmente. Esta vez, en el marco de la celebración por la Cultura nacional, se realizó un encuentro con niños, donde el promotor cultural de la circunscripción. Pedro Cintra les dio a conocer una reseña de la vida y obra de Juan Padrón, creador hace 50 años, del personaje de animados Elpidio Valdés.
Junto al artista de la plática e instructor de arte Elio Hernández, luego de disfrutar de algunos cortos del “pillo manigüero”, convidaron a los pioneros a reproducir dibujos sobre papel.
Otras actividades han realizado, como” Memorias de mis abuelos” y “Donde nace lo cubano”, todas, se han dedicado a momentos y personalidades importantes de nuestra cultura nacional y local: Como el 150 Aniversario de otorgado el título de Villa a la ciudad de Guantánamo, al Changüí y otras.
